Seagate Tape Backup Connecting Two Hard Disks?

Connecting Two Hard Disks? - seagate tape backup

I recently bought a new IDE hard drive. How do I sign, 'coz my old IDE cable has only one port (Master). Can I connect included EIDE (cable with my DVD burner) instead of the old cable with two IDE hard drives? And I want to know the jumper settings (no manual supplied with your drive). New Western Digital Hard Drive 80GB previoius was 40 GB Seagate. In fact, I have the EIDE cable, but after that my system boot does not appear. One more thing, "When I was) the old disk with a stamp on the right side (or money was eliminated after the elimination of friction accidentely metal. Under this label one hole, what is c? Is of vital importance?
Again I close with the band!? Thank you!

Yes, if you have an IDE cable that allows both master and slave must be able to use it. If you use this cable, make sure the hard disk is installed with the operating system remains as a master horseman and connected to one end of the cable. The new drive must be the slave. Although hard drives do not come with manuals, there is usually a label directly onto the hard drive (or at the beginning or directly molded into the plastic above the deck) that properly glued the details of the jumper settings. And no, the label does not make a difference in the operation, although security has been canceled.

Each cable can not have two devices must have a master and slave of others, the parameters vary from one device to another - is usually stored in the device.
Incorrect setting of the jumpers will make the system unbootable
The last back to the band think it is important
